By William, Talent Sourcing Expert · Updated 14 October 2026 · How we build this list

Digital Unicorn is our affiliated agency and is placed first by editorial preference. Compare these providers for a Dubai retail store where catalogue, stock and orders must work together. The selection is a starting point for procurement, not a claim that review counts determine delivery quality.

10 companies compared · 9 with an office in the UAE · 127 public reviews read · typical rate $25 to $49 an hour (sources: GoodFirms listings and company profiles, plus Clutch and Sortlist profiles for some companies, checked 5 October 2026)

What we compared

Follow one item from catalogue to return

Choose an item with realistic complexity: variants, changing stock or a promotion that affects its price. Ask each agency to explain how that item moves from the source catalogue to the storefront, then through an order and a return. This exercise exposes the connections that a homepage mockup cannot show. Include the staff who manage merchandising and fulfilment in the discussion.

Agree which system owns product information and which owns inventory. If several tools can change the same field, ask how conflicts will be resolved. A connector should have an identified source of truth and a way to investigate missing updates. Without that ownership, the retailer may spend more time correcting data than the new storefront saves.

Compare integrations with actual exception cases

Give suppliers examples of a cancelled order, a partial shipment and a refund. Ask them to show where each event appears and who can act on it. Include the payment and delivery services your business intends to use, rather than assuming every proposed platform supports the same workflow out of the box. Put custom integration work explicitly in the scope.

For a physical and online retail operation, discuss stock reservations and the timing of updates. Ask what staff see when an item is unavailable after an order has been placed. The requirement is an operational decision for your business to make with the implementer, not a slogan about seamless commerce. Document the accepted behavior before selecting a theme.

Specify the people who will operate the store

Have a merchandiser review product editing, a support colleague review order lookup and a manager review reporting. Ask what each role can change. The handover should include those everyday tasks, along with account ownership and the process for publishing a new promotion. A store is not complete simply because an administrator can demonstrate every screen.

The profiles in this list combine dated directory evidence with an openly stated editorial preference. Published agency rates do not include your platform subscriptions, payment charges or integration scope. Request those items separately and ask who will respond during an agreed trading period if checkout or stock updates stop working.

Reading the provider evidence

Provider cards use archived GoodFirms profiles and listings read on 5 October 2026. Office locations, team bands and service percentages are provider declarations recorded there. Reviews keep the platform and reading date shown on each card. These records were not rechecked for current availability when this guide was written.

Frequently asked questions

Should a retailer choose its platform before an agency?

Set the catalogue and operational requirements first. Then ask candidates to justify a platform against those requirements and identify any custom integrations.

Can the same company build a storefront and connect our ERP?

Some can. Ask who owns each part, which integration is included and how failures will be tested before signing.

Why is this different from a general e-commerce agency list?

The buying questions focus on retail operations: product data, inventory, returns and staff workflows. These needs should shape the scope even when the same provider appears on another list.
